Who Can Resist A Hot Tub?!

By Glover Paul

Hot tubs have captured our interest since the very first time that they were introduced and it’s hard to argue why. Hot tubs are not only beautiful, they’re extremely relaxing!

What’s a hot tub?

Sometimes called a soaking tub, spa, or Jacuzzi, a hot tub makes a wonderful addition to any home and is essentially a large basin full of warm water and massaging water.

Although there are different kinds of hot tubs, they all basically work the same. What makes them operate however, distinguishes them from one another. A hot tub that merely warms its occupants is operated with a heater, while a spa is operated with hydrotherapy jets, for example. Jacuzzi’s use both systems of operation, while plain baths use a simple circuit to gently move the water inside of it.

The Best Place For A Hot tub

We certainly can’t tell you where the best place for a hot tub is! You may find hot tubs both indoors and outdoors, with the latter being sheltered for privacy reasons and because of the weather. When considering a hot tub for your home, the best thing to think about is where it will offer the best privacy and enjoyment: indoors or outdoors.

One really neat idea is to devote a part of your back yard to a hot tub embedded into a wooden porch. This style is typically used for spas, but it can certainly be used for any type of soaking tub or Jacuzzi. The end result is breathtakingly beautiful – especially when the flanks of the wooden porch are creatively arranged in a circular pattern around the hot tub.

If you prefer your hot tub above ground, you can of course add a set of steps that lead to the tub’s inner seating.

Indoors however, your hot tub can be just as beautiful. With so many new styles, sizes, and patterned fiberglass tubs, you certainly have a wide selection to choose from.

Overcoming Resistance

Although the media has associated hot tubs with the young and wild parties, don’t let that stop you from getting one of your own! Hot tubs aren’t just for bikini clad generation. Quite the contrary – hot tubs are very therapeutic and are commonly used in rehabilitation centers. So if you play a lot of sports for example, work in a laborious field, suffer from arthritis, or you’re prone to a lot stress at the job, you can benefit from using a hot tub just as much as anyone else.

Because of the extreme relaxation that they offer, some people even use hot tubs for spiritual reasons and take advantage of the environment that they create for meditation.

The best advantage that your own hot tub offers is its accessibility. With your own hot tub, you never have to worry about traveling to a gym, buying a membership, or using it within hours of someone else’s operation!

Talk It Over

Talking to your contractor about how you plan to use your hot tub will help him or her determine the best installation plan that accommodates your personal needs. Be sure that you ask about things like energy conservation, easy cleaning, and of course, aesthetics.
